Rare Wedgwood Child Size Egyptian Style Teapot
This is a rare child size, one cup capacity, Egyptian style teapot. It is unornamented except for shell fluting under the spout and the raised rim band around the body. It is size 42, measuring 3" high and 5 7/8" handle to spout. It is marked underneath with WEDGWOOD 42, and it dates to circa 1870-1890. There is very light crazing all over the piece with a few hair fine short scratches in the clear glaze only. The re are also 4 manufacturing flaws as follows: one unglazed spot on bottom of handle tip where it turns up about the size of three pin heads, but it is covered with clear glaze; three drying rack marks on bottom inside rim, and one tiny one on the side. Otherwise it is perfect, and it appears never to have been used.
