This pair of Continental marble and bronze torcheres are spectacularly carved with a 6 light candleabra converted to be electric. The marble column is 65 inches high and the bronze candelabra measures 25 inches high for an overall height of 90" with the base measuring 13" wide by 13" deep. There are four swans encircling the bottom, alternating swans and fish inside crests around the middle, and intricately carved women's faces above that. This romantic figural period lamp depicts an Arab ivory merchant. The details are exquisite, from the vibrant colors of the rugs to the facial features of the merchant. This mixed metal piece is of Austrian or German origin and dates from the 1920's. It is in original and working condition, has a nice patina, and is newly rewired. It measures 9 3/4" high by 6 1/4" wide.
